This time, we sit down with Mads Peitersen, Director Customer Success Manager (CSM) for BeNeLux region & Solution Architect at Omada and Ashley Salazar, Team Lead Sales & Senior Account Manager at SITS | Traxion.
SITS | Traxion and Omada have been working together for over 15 years to deliver innovative Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions for clients in sectors such as government, healthcare, and finance. We’re proud that SITS | Traxion has been awarded Omada’s Global Partner of the Year for 2024 — a recognition of our long-standing collaboration and shared dedication to excellence in Identity Governance & Administration (IGA). It’s high time to shine a spotlight on Omada and this collaboration!
This is just the beginning. SITS | Traxion collaborates with numerous partners. In the coming months, you’ll hear more about our partnerships with companies like Omada, CyberArk, Microsoft, SailPoint, Thales, KeyFactor, and many others.
The First Meeting: A Start Full of Energy
Ashley:”Mads, do you remember our first meeting at the Municipality of Utrecht during that workshop? I felt like we clicked right away.”
Mads:”Absolutely. What stuck with me was how quickly we moved from ideas to concrete solutions. That wasn’t just brainstorming; it felt like practical collaboration from the start.”
Ashley: “What do you think made it work so well from the beginning?”
Mads: “I think it was because we immediately focused on the client. We weren’t just working with technology for the sake of technology, but on how we could help Utrecht tackle their challenges. That gave us clarity.”
First Success: IAM at the Municipality of Utrecht
Ashley: “What really stands out to me is how big the challenge was: 8,500 employees, access cards from former employees still in circulation, and manually managed processes. It required a fundamental change.”
Mads: “Exactly. A key moment for me was when the HR system was integrated with Omada. From that point, access rights could be managed automatically based on roles and functions. That brought so much structure.”
Ashley: “What do you think was the biggest breakthrough in that project at the Municipality of Utrecht?”
Mads: “I’d say it was the collaboration between IT and the business side. Often, there’s resistance, but by analysing processes first and involving the business, we built trust. That made the difference.”
Ashley: “Yes, and that trust is still there. It’s why the municipality continues to connect more applications to Omada. It’s a great development.”
Challenges in the Market
Ashley: “IAM remains a challenging topic for many organizations. Where do you see clients struggling the most?”
Mads: “Mostly with getting started. Many companies know they need to do something, but it seems so complex that they keep postponing it. There’s also a common misconception that IAM is purely an IT issue.”
Ashley: “I see that too. Often, it’s unclear internally who is responsible—HR, IT, or even the executive team. Without clarity, nothing moves forward.”
Mads: “That’s why a step-by-step approach is so important. What do you think helps clients take that first step?”
Ashley: “Start with insights. Analyse the access points, identify risks, and determine which processes can be improved. It creates calm and provides a clear direction.”
The Power of Collaboration
Mads:”Ashley, what do you think makes our collaboration so valuable for clients?”
Ashley: “I think it’s because we complement each other so well. Omada brings IGA best practice with their Process+ approach designed into the product. But what really makes it powerful is that we always start with the client’s needs, not the tool. It’s about combining strategy, process, and technology.”
Mads: “Exactly. For me, it’s important that clients don’t just get a technical solution but one that’s deeply embedded in their organization. That’s where SITS | Traxion makes a real difference.”
Pride and Appreciation
Ashley: “Looking back on our projects, I’m most proud of the impact we’ve had on organizations like the Municipality of Utrecht. It’s rewarding to know that we’re not just solving problems but truly helping clients advance their digital transformation.”
Mads: “For me, it’s seeing how flexible our platform is in addressing such complex challenges. But honestly? The best part is watching clients, thanks to our collaboration, gain more confidence in managing their IAM environment.”
Looking Ahead to 2025
Ashley: “What are you most looking forward to in the coming years?”
Mads: “I think customers will begin to see where AI can be applied for real business value, and real-world use cases will be adopted more readily. For example, Omada’s new intelligent AI assistant “Javi” will help users to perform many IGA tasks using native, natural language requests in their everyday productivity apps, saving time and increasing efficiency. There are huge opportunities there.
Ashley: “Agreed. I’ve also noticed growing demand for user-friendly solutions, and this is a great example. Clients want systems that are intuitive and efficient, without compromising security. That’s where we can make a big difference.”
Closing Remarks
Ashley: “What I appreciate about our collaboration is that it always revolves around the customer. It’s never technology for technology’s sake, but a true partnership where we build solutions that work together.”
Mads: “I completely agree. It feels great to know we’re helping customers with sustainable solutions and that we’re continuously improving at it.”
